The leading IT giant of India – Wipro has recently acquired Capco, the well-known consultancy firm in financial services and banking space. This acquisition has costed $1.45 billion. This is by far the largest acquisition that the IT giant has ever made.
Wipro is a Bangalore based company and Capco (The Capital Markets Company) is headquartered in London. Capco provides consulting, digital and technological services to the global finance and banking industry.
Capco has a workforce of around 5000 employees spread across over 30 locations across the globe. This transaction is supposed to be completed by the second quarter of 2021. However, the same is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Some other acquisitions of the firm include Salesforce-partner 4C based in Belgium, Brazilian IT firm IVIA Servios de Informatica Ltda and engineering services firm Eximius Designs.
